FOCUS-4R: Professional mobility programme gets underway

In June 2026, the European project FOCUS-4R launched its first professional mobility between partner organizations.

The head of the animal facility at GIP CYROI (Cyclotron Réunion Océan Indien) spent two weeks at pharmaceutical laboratory C.RIS Pharma, marking a symbolic milestone in a programme that will support up to 126 mobility opportunities over the project’s four-year duration.

A first mobility between public research and the pharmaceutical industry

Those mobilities are planned as part of FOCUS-4R (Fostering Outermost regions Capabilities in Research & Innovation and Upgrading Skills complying with 4R principles), a project funded by the European Union under the Horizon Europe programme (HORIZON-WIDERA-2024-TALENTS).

Eva Naffrichoux, veterinarian at GIP CYROI, was the first to benefit from it. During her two weeks at C.RIS Pharma, she took part in preclinical activities and was trained in Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), the international framework designed to ensure the reliability and traceability of trials conducted ahead of clinical phases.

“It was a very enriching professional experience. Thank you for the warm welcome and see you very soon!” shared Eva Naffrichoux.

These professional immersions aim to provide researchers and technicians from different sectors—in new valuable practices and expertise, that may not be accessible within their home organisation.
